Clean Up

Blake Dyason has been a moving force in the City Clean Up event space. He has created a fun way for people to clean up and save the planet!

The Joburg City Clean Up took place recently and it was a massive success. Blake Dyason has been setting up ‘City Clean Up’ events around South Africa. It all started in Cape Town after 5fm released balloons into the air, Blake approached them and a massive cleanup event was launched.

Since then he has been working on getting the days set up in other cities. The Joburg one was so great, they collected 150 bags of litter that will be sorted and recycled. CN&Co together with Petco and Extrupet hosted the Joburg City Clean up at Newtown Park in Joburg CBD.

Petco sponsored the plastic bags and gloves to the event so that people could clean the city hygienically.

“You could feel the energy and feeling of pride amongst the local residents as they filled bags of rubbish.”

“The Joburg City Clean Up was driven by FNB and Joburg10k, they wanted to host a clean up the week before the Joburg10k run. This was an effort to bring the running community and locals together to clean our city so as to give visitors a better experience while visiting the city.” – Blake Dyason

Blake shared the information for his Joburg Clean Up in August. He has now announced the information for the Durban event on his website CN&Co.
