Global (02 January 2023) – What did people think of us 100 years ago? What did they think life would be like in the future? Well, we have a list of 17 predictions about 2023 made in 1923.

Paul Fairie, a researcher and instructor from the University of Calgary, shared a list of real predictions from 1923 regarding what 2023 might look like.

From how our life expectancy might be longer to speaking through watch-size radio telephones and even how men will be curling their hair. The projected ideas are both hilariously wrong and eerily on point.

  • The workday will be four hours long.
  • Women will blacken their teeth and shave their heads.
  • Radio will replace gasoline.
  • All people will be beautiful.
  • Life expectancy will be 100 years.
  • Life expectancy will also be 300 years.
  • People will wear kidney cosies.
  • Men will curl their hair.
  • The US will have a population of 300 million.
  • Canada will have a population of 100 million.
  • Utensils will be made of pulp.
  • Flights from Chicago to Hamburg will only take 18 hours.
  • Newspapers will have been out of business for 50 years.
  • Private kitchens will disappear.
  • Cancer will be eradicated.
  • War will be wireless and we might have telepathy.
  • People will communicate using watch-size radio telephones.
