New Collars

Greta Wilson put on her dog hero cape once again to help township dogs get new collars and leads, making a big difference for the community!

Mpophomeni, South Africa (15 August 2024) — New collars and leashes might be something many privileged pooches are used to, but when you’re a dog in an underserved area, these kinds of accessories are few and far between.

Without the proper accessories, going for walks becomes tougher and riskier; many dogs are free-spirited and, of course, much faster than humans when their curiosity leads them astray. Not to mention, if you’re trying to train your dog without a leash, you might run into something more akin to a How to Train Your Dragon scene—adorable but chaotic.

Animal NPO Fund Nenja are in the business of bettering animals’ lives in the Mpophomeni township in the KZN Midlands. Here, they provide support like vaccinations and dog training lessons for the community and its animals—something that becomes far easier when collars and leashes are on hand.

Naturally, Funda Nenja couldn’t have been more thankful when one of their loyal dog heroes stepped up to ensure that the dogs they help would be kitted out with these dog essentials. Said hero? None other than Greta Wilson, who you might recall from her icy birthday swim for the organisation!

Greta Wilson has been a loyal supporter of Funda Nenja since her visit in 2016. Over the years, she’s become a beacon of awareness for their efforts and inspired many with her fundraising finesse—from tackling freezing laps to dedicating her own beloved Boxer’s birthday to the organisation.

Coming to their aid once more, Greta helped organise a donation of new collars and leashes!

With gorgeous Ndebele patterns to boast, Woofa’s collars kindly made their way to Funda Nenja thanks to the team’s Nic and, of course, Greta.
