Some animals are rescued under the worst circumstances only to become the most cherished members of the family. That was Bullie, a bull whose recent passing has left a deep void at the Virginia SPCA.
Virginia, South Africa (05 May 2025) – Bullie, an endearing bull with a beautiful brown coat, has left a void in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Found in 2014, hobbled and on his own next to the road, Bullie meant very little to those who had left him behind, but meant the absolute world to the rescuers of the Virginia SPCA in the Free State.
“Bullie was only a few days old when we rescued him, and our staff raised him to the amazing Bull he was.
“All the staff had a very close connection and bond with Bullie. Samuel always made sure he was sparkling clean, and among all the others, Bullie was fed, spoilt with treats, and loved, he was so loved,” the SPCA said.
Adored for his protective nature toward the other animals and his mischief whenever there was food around, nothing could have prepared the team for the sad day they had to say goodbye to the beloved bull, whose loss has cut deeper than words can explain.
Taken far too soon than anyone could have expected, Bullie is believed to have suffered from a neurological condition. However, the memory of this magnificent soul will forever be etched into the hearts and minds of those he has left behind.
“Bullie, you were so much more than you knew to us. Rest easy, Boy. We love you, and your majestic presence will be missed.”
