Evangeline Earns Highest Academic Achievement at School for Music

A gifted young cellist just swapped her red blazer for a black one!

Cape Town, South Africa (12 May 2026) – At Fish Hoek High School, the Black Blazer is the highest academic achievement a learner can earn. Evangeline Wilson-Harris just got hers!

“Congratulations to Evangeline Wilson-Harris (Honours in Music) for exchanging her red blazer for the prestigious Black Blazer — the highest academic achievement at our school!” shared the school.

Evangeline is a cellist. She recently won the WCED Provincial Skills Competition, performed at the Austrian Cello Festival, and attended master classes with principal cellists from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the greatest orchestras on the planet.

She’s also Principal Cellist in the Cape Town Youth Orchestra and First Desk Cellist at the Stellenbosch Chamber Music Festival. These are all roles that take years of dedication to earn!

“We are incredibly proud of Evangeline Wilson-Harris and her outstanding achievements!” the school added.

Fish Hoek High School’s star learners are on a roll – from the arts to science and sport! Earlier this month, the school announced a sustainability partnership with a school in Germany, in which learners will be travelling across the world to collaborate on renewable energy.

Adding to that, Noah September, a 17-year-old cylist and learner at Fish Hoek High School, recently claimed gold as part of the South African squad at the UCI African Continental Track Championships in Cairo, Egypt. The win qualified him for the World Championships taking place in the Netherlands later this year.
