A content creators dream has just opened in Joburg… and it only costs R140 to play in the 12 flipping cool “creative photo-box studios”.
Johannesburg, South Africa (16 September 2021) – With booths that look like upside-down rooms, giant chocolate-chip cookies and a ridiculously awesome ducky bathroom, tik-tokkers, photographers and content creators in Joburg have a new studio available to them… and it’s flipping cool!
The “creative photo-box studio” concept has been popping up all over the globe, and even here in South Africa with similar studios opening in Cape Town, Rosebank… and now in Joburg North!
The new studio – called Dreambox – infuses art and creativity with a universal coming-of-age experience to create a playful, quirky, and interactive environment for all ages. The team currently have 12 different boxes, which they plan to update every 8 weeks.
“Our photo “boxes” currently include installations of an upside-down bedroom, a retro box with vinyl’s & cassette tapes (remember those), a giant chocolate chip cookie box, these are but a few of the fun photo “boxes”, which change over time.”
Carey Norman, Tristan Norman and Savanna Diniz – three young South African entrepreneurs from the North of Johannesburg – started the business to bring a little happiness in this unprecedented time.
“Its literally an hour of happiness. Its all about posting, social media – but most importantly having fun, in a strict controlled environment.”
DreamBox officially opened on the 11th of September 2021 in the newly built lifestyle market known as Prison Break Market, located on MacMillan Road, Corner Main Road / Lachlan Road, Glenferness AH, Midrand.
Tickets can be purchased on DreamBox’s website, with the experience being available to the public from Fridays to Sundays, in hourly slots at R140 per person.
