A straight-faced drunk man was caught screaming frustrations at Comrades Marathon runners over the weekend and in the process inspired a wave of brilliant South African comments on Facebook.

A video of a drunk man has been trending on Facebook since it was posted yesterday afternoon. The man has inspired a wave of typical South African humor!

While the video is entertaining in its own right, the comment section is top notch! It reminds us that no matter the story, South African wit will always win the internet!

The man was filmed with a brown bottled beer in hand screaming out his frustrations at the slow runners, he tells the runners he has been waiting around all day! You can see he is genuinely trying to motivate the runners though, so A+ for effort!

“Wenzani!!!” “Too slow!!!” “You cant walk here. This is a run!!!”

The comments were filled with people that loved the video and found him to be very motivating! There are currently over 1000 comments on the video. I think most South Africans can agree with the first two, Mondays and gym are tough!

“I need this guy at work on Mondays 😂😂😂 you too slow” – Lulama Luu

“I need this guy at the gym ” – Mbali Mlaba

The next one was voted as the best comment on the video…

“And in the morning, there will be no work. Mkhize tells bossman he did the comrades. in two quarts past five” – Andre van Aswegen

One man responded, he actually is named Mkhize!

“Hahaha. Yeyi Mkhize’s are seemingly renowned when it comes to 🍻” – Mhleli Mkhize

Others loved his energy and thought he should be rewarded for the effort!

“I just luv his energy and disappointment at the same time😂😂😂” – Chris ZeeTee-Zilele Modikoe

“He deserves a spectator of the year award.” – Sbusiso Mashaba

“🤣😝😜😂my day made honest I’m so motivated” – Owen Yende
