Wedding Dance

A North Texas photographer’s “split-second decision” to turn on her video camera has given us one of the best groomsmen dances in a long time.

Coordinated wedding dance videos were so popular that, for a while, everyone was doing them and they weren’t very exciting anymore.

But once in a while, a new one comes around that completely kills it.

Case in point: this video from a Texas couple’s wedding, which was posted to Facebook by Miranda Marrs Photography earlier this week.

Marrs, a photographer based in Gainesville, Texas, recorded a surprise groomsmen dance at wedding in McKinney on July 9. That video has since gone viral, racking up over 19 million views – many in the last few days.

Hunter Heinrich choreographed a dance with his six groomsmen. And his bride, Lexi, didn’t see it coming.

“The DJ pretended to be setting up a newlywed game to pass the time, and the bride was completely taken off guard and had no idea what was going on,” Marrs wrote on her Facebook page.

Heinrich said he looked at other wedding dance videos for inspiration.

“I tried to wrap it all together with some of my own ideas,” he told the Huffington Post. “The main thing we wanted was for Lexi to feel special and, of course, lots of humor.”

Marrs writes in the “about” section of her photography Facebook page that she takes wedding photos and portraits for “awesome people.” Looks like she hit the jackpot at Hunter and Lexi’s wedding!
