Jacaranda FM created a live event on the corner of Corlett and Oxford Johannesburg. They had a large billboard where people could watch a love story unfold in song form.
Jacaranda FM is celebrating its new positioning which is guaranteed to bring more music that you love! To mark this amazing milestone the station created a live lip sync audiovisual campaign to share the news.
The campaign got two actors who played out a love story which was broadcast live on radio and on a big Billboard.
The actors had to lip sync and act out their love via songs. Listeners were able to change the course of the love story by selecting the next song the couple had to lip sync.
“The story started with a girl called Sandy, whose boyfriend breaks up with her. She bursts into song, singing Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’. Later, she meets someone new that makes her heart beat to the sound of Justin Timerlake’s ‘Can’t stop the feeling’, but the question is: will this turn into a ‘We found love’ kind of love, or ‘Water under the bridge’? The skit is being simulcast on air as the story unfolds.”
Jacaranda FM spent a lot of time planning the event, even down to every last possible scenario that could occur in the love story. If you would like to see how the event went down click here.
The Radio station plans to give its listeners more of what they want. The station did a lot of research to understand what listeners want from their radio station.
“They want to hear more music, longer streams of music, songs people can associate with and connect with, and the best of that music. This is exactly what our new product delivers,” said GM Kevin Fine.
“This stunt combines the two things we are really good at – storytelling and playing music that people love to listen to. It also perfectly explains our proposition, more music you love.”
We are looking forward to seeing where Jacaranda FM takes this new positioning and how it will change the station into exactly what the listeners need.
