majozi meets student emma

Majozi surprised fan at her school after seeing her school oral dedicated to him. He set up a plan to surprise Emma, with Emma’s Mother and the School.

Majozi is a local and celebrated South African Musician, popular for his indie/folk-electro music with hit songs like “Darling” and “Fire”. He was the opening act when the Lumineers toured South Africa.

Late last year Majozi was told about a little fan named Emma, from Meridian Pinehurst Independent School in Cape Town, who decided to dedicate her school oral to him, making him the subject of her talk.

After viewing the clip of Emma playing his song to the class, he felt touched by her dedication and decided to repay her.

“This was really special to me, so decided to go surprise Emma at her school”

Majozi set up a plan to surprise Emma, planning the surprise with Emma’s Mother and the School. On the day Majozi walked up to the classroom door and knocked, as he entered he asked for Emma, who was overjoyed and the two embraced in a big bear hug.

“Got to meet Emma and her classmates and just had some fun at their school”

“Just wanted to say thank you to Emma for doing that, it really means a lot to me and I really appreciate it!”

After meeting Emma and her class, Majozi performed a small concert for the rest of the school and took time to meet each of the children, taking selfies and giving out autographs.

On Majozi’s Facebook page, one of the mothers of a child posted a thank you note.

“Majozi! You made one little boy’s heart very happy today. Thank you for taking the time to perform at Meridian. You have a devoted fan!”- Melanie Kenyon.

Thank you for sharing the video Majozi, it was a touching look into a good deed that has impacted and brought joy to the children of Meridian Pinehurst Independent School
