Cordwalles Primary School recently bid a heartfelt farewell to Mr Johannes Dlamini, a dedicated school driver who has ensured the safe transportation of generations of Cordies boys, always with a friendly smile.
Pietermaritzburg, South Africa (04 November 2024) – From the teachers to the caretakers, kind and dedicated members of a school community have the heartwarming ability to make a profound impact on the lives of the pupils who have had the pleasure of being in their presence.
For many of the pupils of Cordwalles Primary School, it has been Mr Johannes Dlamini. With full hearts and roaring voices, they paid tribute to Dlamini, who has dedicated 27 years of service to the school and its pupils as the respected school driver.
The school community recently gathered in the Besant Theatre to celebrate and honour Mr Dlamini’s long-standing commitment and his significant impact on the lives of countless students.
Dlamini, who also celebrated his 60th birthday on Saturday, will be retiring at the end of this year, marking the close of an incredible chapter at the primary school.
“For nearly three decades, through every kilometre driven to and from school, Mr Dlamini ensured the safe journeys of generations of Cordies boys, always with a smile and a kind word. He has truly embodied the Cordwalles values: respect, responsibility, integrity, and compassion.
“Johannes, thank you for your service, your kindness, and your lasting contribution to Cordwalles. Though we will miss you dearly, your legacy of care and commitment will remain in our hearts. We wish you endless joy and a well-deserved retirement,” the school said.
