South Africa (10 March 2026) – South Africa’s beloved pap has been levelled up! Tablespoon of Tinks, the content creator famous for exploring and experimenting with food, has taken the maize meal staple and turned it into a deep-fried delicacy that’s both fun and utterly snackable.

The process is as hands-on as it is playful. The pap is cooked, cooled, cut into cubes, coated in eggs, then deep-fried. Once the deep-fried pap cubes are golden and crispy, they’re served with chakalaka, a sprinkle of coriander, and a pinch of seasoning for a crunchy, flavour-packed treat.
