Steve Hall has shared a powerful new poem about the week South Africa has had… using it to encourage citizens to “lead with humanity!”

South Africa (18 March 2020) – Steve Hall first popped up on our radar after the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He had written a poem about the Springbok victory.

Now he has written a new poem about the effects of Covid-19 in his household, community and country at large. Steve uses the poem as a way to reassure his children and as a way to build hope in South Africa.

The beautiful poem starts off by saying “What a year this week has been!” It questions what we do next, how we can proceed, and a few other questions his kids ask.

Steve calls every South African a soldier during this war and that even as we sit at home alone, we are all in this together. He says this is the time to practice humanity.

He also encourages South Africans to keep their sense of humour during this time. Steve says we will always be stronger together!

Take a listen to Steve’s poem below.
