Lindokuhle Innocent has a beautiful talent and a desire to do good; he spends his days as a sandman, sculpting beach sand into stunning works of art while making sure the areas he works, remain litter-free!
Hout Bay, South Africa (23 May 2023) – Lindokhule Innocent, the Super Sandman, makes incredible sand sculptures on the beaches of Hout Bay, the Strand, Camps Bay and Muizenberg. His artworks bring in locals and tourists alike. When he isn’t making an elaborate sculpture, Innocent and his team comb the beach, collecting litter so the space stays clean.
Innocent recently started doing commissions and Hout Bay’s most popular pizzeria Massimo’s signed up to have a very clever advert made.
Innocent spent the day creating an outdoor pizza oven from beach sand and we cannot get enough of his talent! The clever advert even had all of Massimo’s contact details so that tourists who didn’t know about the famous restaurant, could reach out.
Massimo’s is locally famous but internationally praised as one of the best pizzas. They even have awards that say so. But what locals love best, is how every fibre of Massimo’s being (the founder and the establishment) is focused on giving back to the community.
Investing in Innocent’s art form not only promotes art as a career, but it gives a man who works incredibly hard, the validation he needs to keep going. It matters because the next day when Innocent arrived at the beach, some sad soul had destroyed his hard work under the cover of darkness.
After his work was destroyed, Innocent took to Facebook to say he was sorry for the person that did it. But he knew that God would continue to provide for him. He also said that he gets back by never giving up, he will just make another sculpture now.
