Beauty Influencer

Who said you can’t be a rugby champion and a beauty influencer? Siya Kolisi might just have a side gig on the cards after his giggle-worthy narration of Rachel’s beauty routine.

Global (07 June, 2023)—In the world of the beauty influencer, Siya Kolisi seems to be finding his feet. While the Springboks’ star might be more of the natural beauty camp in his own capacity, he recently tackled a full beauty routine from the sidelines thanks to rugby’s first lady Rachel Kolisi.

Sitting before some great lighting and the camera, viewers were not expecting Siya’s deep, and confused voice to narrate the step-by-step process. But, we weren’t mad at it. In fact, South Africans have spoken, and Siya Kolisi might just have a career in beauty influencing (after a little brushing up on the terms).

Rachel may have done the work, but Siya’s narration brought all the giggle-inducing flair.

The pair’s team-up follows a massive trend where makeup rookie partners narrate GRWM (get ready with me) videos, and the results are almost always as good as the final looks as said rookies navigate the world of the beauty influencer.

Guessing what the extensive range of items are (an almost always creative result), giving unsolicited advice and explaining the routine’s steps from beginner perspectives, the videos are beauty’s bridge for those who never knew ‘what took so long’.

As for Siya Kolisi’s voice-over, here’s what the internet thought:

“Voice over Siya is the best thing on the net right now.”—@tumimoutlana

“The content we didn’t know we needed this week.”—@adytee93

“Shew we need to get this back on the field before [Clarins] recruits him!”—@lauren_cpt

“This is the only voice over we need now.”—@leiluawifey

“My captain has spoken.”—@ren_pep_rob

“First time I’ve ever watched a makeup review/look to the end.”—@iris_and_indi_powell
