South African rising TikTok star Thato Teo Makgotlho has people in stitches with his recent viral video making fun of every South African advert ever made.
Pretoria, South Africa (07 October 2020) – Voice Over Artist and Comedian Thato Teo Makgotlho has gon viral for turning a TikTok challenge on its head and making all South Africans laugh-out-loud!
The TikTok challenge sees talented singers singing Christina Perry’s “Thousand Years” acapella style and layering the tracks over each other to make a very pleasing version. Thato joined the challenge but its how the video ends that leaves you in fits of laughter.
As South Africans, we all know those beautiful adverts featuring a stunning vocal with heartwarming or deeply moving imagery. These adverts often are for some form of life insurance or policy, and in the end, you always get that signature tag line from the company in question.
That is exactly what Thato did, and people cannot get enough! South Africans are now calling him the advert guy, and on TikTok, he has started getting requests to do other companies, including Chicken Lickin’ and phrases like “Don’t speak to me, speak to my lawyer!”.
The original video has gained over 300k views in six days, but the video has since been shared on Facebook where it is quickly gaining a following and has already gone over 100k views in a matter of eleven hours.
Take a look at the hilarious video below, and if you want to see more and are joined to TikTok, you can follow Thato here.
