“When you said you were about to ‘cook it’, I knew then it was no longer biltong.”

Global (11 August 2022) – Josh Rhoton, a TikTokker from America with 1,4 million followers, tried his hand at making Biltong… and failed dismally, leaving South Africans both mortified and laughing out loud.

Biltong is a form of dried, cured meat that originated in Southern African countries (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia), but there is an art to making Biltong, and many South Africans who have found Rhoton’s video believe that this is not it.

“Wait… Balsamic? BALSAMIC??? What in the wrong recipe is this?” – Frank
