A joint initiative by Maritzburg College and Epworth School showcased the power of young people working together to create a brighter future for those in need.
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (21 August 2024) – The young and compassionate learners of Maritzburg College and Epworth School joined forces and rolled up their sleeves to give back to the community.
Giving the Thandanani Children’s Foundation a much-needed facelift, the learners painted two creches in Imbali, Pietermaritzburg, with beautiful colours and engaging artwork, making the learning environment both inviting and inspiring.
Children need constant care and love to thrive, and for 30 years, the Thandanani Children’s Foundation has been dedicated to providing support, care, and opportunities to vulnerable children in the Pietermaritzburg and Midlands areas.
Through various projects and activities, Thandanani seeks to break cycles of poverty and adversity by building stronger, more vibrant families and communities where children are loved, nurtured and protected, and youth are supported in pursuing their dreams.
“We introduced a new initiative to the Vogue experience with Epworth School. We partnered with Thandanani Children’s Foundation to give back to the community, focusing on providing two creches in Imbali with a much-needed makeover.
“Over two days, the boys and girls rolled up their sleeves, painting, playing, and making memories. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands,” Maritzburg College shared online.
By volunteering their time to renovate Thandanani Children’s Foundation creches, the Maritzburg College and Epworth School learners not only transformed the physical spaces but also brought joy and hope to the vulnerable children who attended the creches.
