Ten women are being uplifted by the Angel Network thanks to a new bakery at Sacred Heart College; they are training to become bakers, working with bread, rolls and pizza!
Johannesburg, South Africa (08 December 2022) – There are so many ways the Angel Network is uplifting people in South Africa. From hosting sewing workshops and beading programmes to launching a new bakery and training up a group of ten women to become bakers.
The Angel Network works is a management organisation partnering with smaller organisations in need of funding and support. They rally their networks for help and then provide the aid needed to support smaller organisations.
The South African Jewish Board of Deputies teamed up with The Angel Network to build a bakery at Sacred Heart College. The funds came from a family in the Jewish community that has chosen to stay anonymous; their only request was that the funds are used for uplifting people.
The bakery will give the women involved the opportunity to earn an income. They are being trained to use the wood fire oven and to make bread, pizza and rolls. The fully-kitted bakery even came with all the ingredients needed to get the business off the ground.
Once the ladies start earning a profit, they will be able to fully run the bakery themselves. This initiative will empower and uplift the ten families.
“Ten women will be able to support their families and we couldn’t be more proud, excited and grateful.”
The training is going really well so far and they have loved making pizzas with their favourite toppings. The future looks bright so be sure to pop in at Sacred Heart College to get your hands on some freshly baked goods in the new year!
You can follow their activities via Facebook here and reach out to Glynne Goldberg Wolman via email should you wish to get involved in any of the running projects.
