The learners at Bridgton Secondary School in Oudtshoorn were overjoyed to receive a special gift of bicycles! Thanks to the generosity of the Pedal Power Association, the Bridgton Cycle Club, and the support of Premier Alan Winde, these young people will now have a more convenient way to get to school.
Oudtshoorn, South Africa (18 November 2024) – The learners of Bridgton Secondary School in Oudtshoorn were recently treated to a special gift from the Pedal Power Association, in partnership with the Bridgton Cycle Club and with the support of Premier Alan Winde.
A team of volunteers delivered a number of bicycles to the high school students, aiming to improve their access to education and promote healthier, safer commutes.
The Bridgton Cycle Club expressed how the youngsters were overjoyed to receive the bikes and we were grateful as a community for being supported through such generous initiatives which greatly enrich their lives.
The cycling club and the supportive environment of the school are developing youngsters and laying the foundation for future South African cycling champions, something that made a lasting impression on Premier Winde as he interacted with the cyclists, learners and school staff.
It’s always heartwarming to see organisations and individuals in the position to make a difference, come together to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
