A wellness event turned donation drive delivers food, care packages and creative kits to local shelters and centres supporting children and women.
Johannesburg, South Africa (15 April 2026) – It all began as a wellness event and then turned into something far more meaningful. A series of thoughtful donation drives reaching communities across Johannesburg.
Instead of a single day of activities, several organisations and safe spaces became the recipients of carefully prepared items, each delivered with intention and care.
At Kids Haven, hundreds of children benefited from a generous food donation. Meals that had originally been prepared for an event were repacked and delivered to the centre, which provides daily nourishment to between 160 and 200 children.
A second stop was The Immaculata Shelter, a space that supports women working to rebuild their lives. Here, residents received gift bags filled with all kinds of comforts, which were distributed during International Women’s Day. The gesture added a personal and uplifting touch to a day already centred on recognising and celebrating women.

The final delivery went to New Life Centre for Girls, where young girls were given creative DIY craft kits. Each pack included materials to make bracelets, necklaces and bookmarks. The donation coincided with the International Day of Happiness, making the moment even more fitting.
The initiative was originally organised by Chevonne Ramharuk of Kyma Yoga Flow as a wellness retreat in support of breast cancer awareness. When the event did not receive enough bookings, the decision was made to redirect all prepared resources into something more impactful. The team ensured nothing went to waste and that it reached people who could truly benefit.
With support from various women-led businesses, volunteers and community members, what could have been a cancelled event became something far greater.
These various outreach visits remind us that even when plans change, the outcome can still make a meaningful difference.

This is such a beautiful example of turning intention into real impact. What started as a simple initiative becoming a meaningful charity effort shows how powerful community support can be. When people come together to donate and uplift others especially children and women in need it truly reflects the spirit of compassion and giving.
