Sally Acton launched ‘Be A Better Human’ micro-courses in 2020 as a way for people to learn more while giving back to a charity related to the subject of the course.

South Africa (04 February 2022) – If you have always wanted to learn more about pangolins, learn the language of LGBTQIA+, or even the joy of journaling. A platform was created by Sally Acton not only to promote and employ content creators but to raise money for charity; this is all being done through engaging micro-courses.

Since starting in 2020, the platform has grown to include more than 20 charities and supply interactive learning on more than 40 topics.

Each class is linked to a charitable organisation, so you can see who you are supporting with every purchase, and with a micro-class starting at R115, they are an affordable way to keep the family engaged on car trips whilst ensuring that organisations like The Endangered Wildlife Trust, Two Oceans Aquarium, SA Bone Marrow Registry, The Pink Drive and FightBack SA are earning some much-needed cash!

“I wanted to create a place where people could learn facts and information whilst donating at the same time – we need to support our charities, but we also need to grow our knowledge and understanding of each other and this world. So BE A BETTER HUMAN was born” – Sally Acton, Founder

Be A Better Human offers free courses as well for individuals from disadvantaged communities. This, too, falls into the charitable nature of the organisation. These include micro-courses on understanding POPIA, having an entrepreneurial mindset or, as mentioned above, the joy of journaling.

“You can do more than just hashtag something from your home to make a difference, you can buy a micro-class, knowing that the money you are spending supports that cause directly and that you are creating employment as well”
