Oh, but won’t faith do it! Faith Whittle, embodying the very essence of her name, transformed a personal charity swim into a wave of generosity, raising over R1 million for a babies’ home renovation project.

Durban, South Africa (10 March 2025) – Faith is the unshakable belief or complete confidence in something not seen or yet to manifest. It is believing that something you’re hoping for will come to fruition even against daunting odds.

True to her name, Faith Whittle embarked on a personal mission to take on the Midmar Mile last month with one great hope in her heart – that she could garner enough support to raise funds towards The Domino Foundation’s Babies’ Home roof renovation project.

Her swim saw R7,060 coming in from well-wishers.

“It was just a drop in the ocean…well, actually the Midmar Dam,” remarked Faith, considering the daunting R1.3 million needed.

But, the story of her valiantly taking the plunge stirred others to action. In the month since the iconic swimming event, generous givers contributed a further R1,075,000, making a grand total of R1,082,080 to date! Talk about faith moving mountains!

“From small beginnings big things come and we are more than two thirds of the way there!” exclaimed Karen Brokensha, Domino’s Marketing Manager.

Karen encouraged willing and able partners to invest into this legacy building at the Babies’ Home which, over 21 years, has provided a place of safety, nurture and love to the more than 170 infants and toddlers who have found their “forever” adoptive families while there.
