Four brave warriors. Dreams come true. A renewed belief that tomorrow is worth fighting for. Through unforgettable moments and beautifully wrapped boxes of happiness, the Reach for a Dream Foundation has been sprinkling pure goodness from Buffalo City to East London, reaching children facing the unimaginable, head-on.

South Africa (25 July 2025) – Contagious giggles, starry eyes and dreams come true! It’s the magic Dream Days are made of, and the Reach For A Dream Foundation (RFAD) has been sprinkling it far and wide!

Rayan lives his best firefighter life

With a heart set on adventure and a dream bigger than himself, five-year-old Rayan from East London got to experience what it’s truly like to be a real-life hero! For his Dream Day, he stepped into the life of a firefighter and was captivated by the world of sirens, trucks, and brave heroes at the Buffalo City Fire & Rescue Services Station.

Dressed in his very own firefighter outfit, complete with helmet and boots, Rayan got to climb into a real fire truck and ride along the beachfront like a true little firefighter.

Just when he thought the day couldn’t get any better, one of the kind sponsors handed him a wrapped surprise. Inside was exactly what he had been dreaming of: a bubblegum tablet, which he received with a proud smile spread across his face, courtesy of the Slipper Day 2025 donations.

Akhanyile steps into a vet’s world

In Cape Town, 10-year-old Akhanyile, whose spirit refuses to be dimmed by his connective tissue disorder, was able to immerse himself in his fascination with animals.

His Dream Day took him on an adventure to an animal hospital, where Akhanyile stepped into a vet’s world, complete with a uniform, stethoscope, and name badge!

With wide eyes, he toured the hospital, learning about surgeries, animal bones, and even peering through a microscope. The excitement in his voice was palpable as he imagined himself as a future vet. And of course, his smile lit up the entire room when he also received a tablet to call his own.

Bokke fans get to meet rugby legends

In a memorable moment filled with green and gold, a brave 8-year-old named Wyatt from East London finally met Siya Kolisi, the legend he has always admired, while, 17-year-old Mine from Johannesburg also had the chance to meet the Springboks she has long looked up to during the recent Springboks vs Georgia match in Mbombela.

Both young fans had their dreams come true on an unforgettable day that will stay with them forever.

What RFAD does is second to none. These experiences are more than just fun; they offer a vital respite from the challenges of illness, providing inspiration, courage, and a renewed belief that tomorrow is worth fighting for.
