Funky socks did a good thing! Every rand raised goes to charities that help children learn, heal, and feel supported.
South Africa (03 December 2025) – This year’s Funky Socks Day didn’t just see us don our most colourful socks; it raised an incredible R2 million for children and communities across South Africa and Namibia.
The campaign supported four charities. Breadline Africa, CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA, Rally to Read and Matla a Bana.
On 12 September, it called on thousands of people to pull on their loudest, most joyful socks, buy the R10 sticker, and step out with purpose.
Schools joined in. Businesses joined in. Families joined in.
Small actions, when multiplied, do big things.
Breadline Africa will now be able to deliver 50 educational packs to early childhood centres that need them most. CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA received support for its digital learning programme. Rally to Read gained vital literacy resources and teacher training support. And Matla a Bana will be delivering 600 comfort packs to child survivors of abuse.
All thanks to Funky Socks Day.
“We are incredibly grateful to be chosen again as a beneficiary of PNA Funky Socks Day. Every sticker and every pair of bright socks help us support children and communities that deserve safety, dignity and opportunity. The generosity shown this year reminds us what can happen when people come together with heart and purpose,” says Mette Kirsten, Head of Brand and Communications at Breadline Africa.
This year’s total of R2 million is one of PNA’s most successful community campaigns to date. And the countdown for next year has already begun!
“Each pair of funky socks and stickers sold represented heart, hope and every step taken helped change lives. We are incredibly proud of what our community achieved together,” shares Herman Botha, Senior Executive at Breadline Africa.
