ripple effect engaged #KFCProposal

A couple who recently went viral for getting engaged in a KFC have received hundreds of donations after trolls made fun of them for their fast-food proposal.

South Africa – Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat officially got married in 2012 but have been receiving pledges from hundreds of brands across South Africa to help fund their wedding after their heartwarming #KFCproposal video broke the internet.

The couple had a small ceremony after meeting in 2010 and have lived together ever since but pressure from the church has led them to plan a formal wedding, and that is why Mkansi proposed again to the love of his life to give her the wedding of her dreams… and it looks like they will get just that and more!

The video which has caused the nation to feel-good about love again was originally uploaded to Twitter by Kateka Malobola and then by KFC South Africa who asked Mzansi to search for the couple.

“Please help us find this beautiful couple,” the Twitter account posted on Thursday. “DM us any leads; there might be a Finger-Lickin’ Good surprise in it for you too … We love love.”

At first, trolls made fun of the couple, but then something magical happened as the nation shared an outpouring of positivity and love and then brands jumped on board to offer donations from luggage to drinks at their reception and even DJ Fresh as their in-house music master on their celebration day.
