The Cape Town Children’s Choir has established a new choir for juniors; children aged 7 to 9 can now take part, too.

Cape Town, South Africa (21 April 2024) – The Cape Town Children’s Choir announces an exciting addition to their offerings, welcoming children ages seven to nine to join the newly formed Junior Choir.

The Cape Town Children’s Choir has been in existence since 2020 and enables young singers between the ages of 9 and 16 to develop their musical skills in a positive, stimulating environment surrounded by musically talented friends who strive for excellence.  The choir is a fully registered NPO and has PBO status.

“Our repertoire encompasses a wide variety of styles and genres, catering to a range of interests.”

Conducted by Bronwen Leith, the Cape Town Children’s Choir has gone from strength to strength and recently performed at the Zeitz MOCAA, City Hall, CTICC, inter alia, and next year the choir is aiming to attend the World Choir Games in Mauritius!

“We are excited to announce the launch of a new children’s choir called the Cape Town Children’s Choir JUNIORS which welcomes younger children (7 – 9 yrs) to join. They can be from anywhere in the Cape Town area and for this new choir no auditions are required. The choir leader for this new exciting choir is Colleen Hart.”

Members of both choirs have the opportunity to form friendships and interact with children from many different walks of life whilst making harmony together.

“We think that this is worth celebrating and are hoping that you might be able to help us spread the word about these two choirs either by a short interview or mention. As you know, many music careers in pop or classical are launched when children start by singing in a choir!”
