The Lion King cast is bringing all the feels with their first rehearsals as they gear up to reopen Broadway again!!!
New York, United States of America (29 July 2021) – After being shut down for more than 500 days, the Lion King is reopening on Broadway on the 14th of September 2021, and the cast is already bringing all the feels in their rehearsals.
With over 100 million audience members worldwide, 70 major theatre awards, 25 productions globally, and crowned the 3rd longest-running Broadway show, The Lion King is back and bringing all the feels after months of being closed due to COVID.
Broadway officially shut down on the 12th of March 2020, but rehearsals have started again for most shows, including The Lion King and in this incredibly heartwarming video, we get to see the cast reunited again!
The cast is made up of theatre actors from all over the world – including many South Africans – who are excited to get back to work! And luckily, videographers were on hand to capture the emotional moment when they were all reunited and sang Circle of Life together for the first time!
Since then, preparations have been in full swing as the production prepares to welcome audiences back to experience Disney’s award-winning musical at the Lyceum Theatre. The Lion King will officially open on the 14th of September 2021!
“It’s the circle of life and it moves us all! Through despair and hope, through faith and love ’til we find our place… on the path unwinding. In the circle, the circle of life.”
