Volunteers are the reason so many charities are able to get stuff done faster and on a larger scale; the Grace Factory is grateful for the men and women who volunteer their free time to make a difference.

South Africa (27 October 2023) – Many hands make light work and in the case of charities, it’s volunteers who make it happen. The Grace Factory has shared its pride and thanks for the helpful volunteers that show up time and time again, to help pack hundreds of gift bags for new mothers.

The Grace Factory, an NPO that gives practical assistance to moms and babies in need during the first few weeks of motherhood and infancy, stresses the importance of doing so. The organisation packs the items into gift sets and delivers them to new moms in government hospitals all over South Africa. The packs consist of basic necessities such as clothes, blankets, toiletries, nappies and a few things for mom.

Volunteers make all the difference as the Grace Factory teams need a helping hand to make sure each pack is fully loaded with goodies for both mom and baby.

These packs will now be delivered to moms in need. A gesture that will go a long, long way when times are tough. Every mother deserves a baby shower, and to be showered with gifts, The Grace Factory and its volunteers make sure that moms in need, feel this love too!

“We packed 200 maternity packs for vulnerable mothers and their babies, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing volunteers, donors and sponsors!

Every piece of clothing was donated by very kind individuals, and then sorted, washed and prepacked into beautiful sets.

Blankets were either cut and overlocked, or beautifully crocheted.

Baby beanies, booties and little jerseys were knitted and made with love.
Hundreds of reusable breast pads were cut, sewn and made from scratch.

Soft toys were beautifully crocheted.

This is the kind of love and care that our volunteers put in to make sure that every mother feels loved, appreciated and valued when receiving her maternity pack.”
