Lady Eliza Spencer said yes to longtime South African partner Channing Millerd in a romantic Santorini proposal, and we’re gushing over it!

Santorini, Greece (01 August 2025) – Love is in the air! Lady Eliza Spencer, niece and spitting image of the late Princess Diana, is officially engaged, and her long-time South African partner, Channing Millerd, pulled out every stop for a dreamy proposal during a couple’s getaway in Santorini.

The couple, whose love story began almost a decade ago, announced their engagement on Instagram on 31 July with a series of romantic snaps that made everyone swoon. A candle-lit setting, ocean views, and armfuls of flowers set the scene for Channing’s glowing proposal, and Eliza’s resounding “yes!”

Dressed for paradise in a red sundress and sandals, Eliza beamed as she kneels beside her now-fiancé in one of the photos, while showing off a dazzling diamond ring in another.

Her caption, sweet and simple, reads: “Forever and ever.”

The proposal earned the seal of approval from Eliza’s identical twin. Lady Amelia, who was first to comment on the good news.

“I couldn’t be happier for you both! The best news in the world. I love you both with all my heart! The perfect couple and dream engagement.”

Though Lady Eliza and Amelia are now based in London, the Spencer siblings were raised in Cape Town — and South Africa remains close to their hearts. In fact, in 2023, Eliza’s twin, Amelia, tied the knot to Greg Mallett, the nephew of a former South African Springbok coach, in the Western Cape’s lush winelands.

As the newly-engaged couple share a mutual love for the country where they first began dating in 2019, a South African wedding may very well be on the cards.

Channing, who has a son from a previous relationship, shared his own heartfelt message for his soon-to-be wife, on the recent celebration of her 33rd birthday, just three weeks ago.

“You epitomise grace yet have a fierce strength that holds our world together. Thank you for everything that you are, I truly am the luckiest man in this world to be able to call you mine.”

Millerd is a Cape Town–born businessman and the COO of Marxhoff, an alcohol beverage company co-founded by Springbok rugby champs Malcolm Marx and Steven Kitshoff. He also co-manages Lala V, a luxury Provence rosé brand alongside his love Eliza, who is also a model.

With Eliza’s sisters Lady Kitty and Lady Amelia both recently married, she may be the last Spencer sister to walk down the aisle, but it’s clear this love story was worth the wait!
