South African charities have become the life-force during the lockdown and hundreds of our readers have been asking where to donate; these are the charities we know of.

South Africa (20 May 2020) – We have had hundreds of emails and messages ranging from people looking for help to people wanting to offer help. We have been directing them to the charities we know of but a conclusive list is what was needed.

We have spent the better part of the day tracking down all the information you may need to select a charity to support.

Below we have listed all the different kinds of charities that are in need of help, you can find them sorted into different categories for ease of reference. We will try link to as many of their platforms as possible where you will be able to get in contact. For privacy reasons, we are unable to provide any phone numbers without direct permission.

Lastly, due to the length of the list, we cannot give a breakdown of the charity but we will link to any previous stories about them where you can read more about what they do!

  2. This is awesome! It is so brilliant to see people and organisations standing together and championing on NPO’s.

My name is David May, from an NPO called Life Community Services in George, Western Cape. We are currently reaching out to 1400 children daily, with the number growing as lockdown continues. The community of George has been fantastic in reaching out and assisting. We do however, need national support to continue. Please check us out and stand with us where you can. Thank you.
