On Valentine’s Day, the spirit of love and generosity shone brightly in Cape Town, thanks to the efforts of the Support Orphans in Southern Africa (SOSA) charity, which brought some tasty goods to the children it supports.

Cape Town, South Africa (18 February 2025) – There’s nothing quite like a good-loaded sarmie or a fresh hotdog at lunchtime! Receiving it as a kind gesture from someone who kept you in mind while preparing or packing it, makes it twice as special!

Spreading love with this in mind were members from the Support Orphans in Southern Africa (SOSA) charity on Valentine’s Day last week!

Children of the Ocean View Care Centre in Cape Town got to sink their teeth into some delicious hotdog goodness after receiving a heartfelt donation of 100 of them from the SOSA team!

The Centre’s cadets were also in for a treat as they also received 110 delicious sandwiches made with 10 loaves of bread, chicken polony, cheese, tomatoes, and butter – all in SOSA’s efforts to share kindness, one meal at a time!

Founded by South African JP Skinner and his Dutch wife, Renate Vink, in 2006, the SOSA Foundation, based in Haarlem, Netherlands, aims to provide financial and material assistance to underprivileged children in Southern Africa.

Together, this couple and its dedicated partners have demonstrated tangible acts of kindness that provide comfort and joy to underprivileged children.

Spreading love with sandwiches and hotdogs is just one of the many special ways they brighten the lives of young people who need the comforting warmth of love in its many forms!
