The Teddy Bear Foundation’s Soweto branch is raising urgent funds to repair the damaged facility, which has been a safe space for countless children and families exposed to heartbreaking traumas and abuse.
Soweto, South Africa (22 January 2025) – From the tiniest babies to teenagers, countless children in our country endure scarring traumas and hardships. The Teddy Bear Foundation, a beacon of hope for many of these youngsters, provides a safe haven where these children can begin to heal from abuse and reclaim their childhoods.
This vital charity offers compassionate and professional services that promote healing and prevent further abuse. By minimising secondary harm, they support children and families navigating the challenging child protection system.
The Teddy Bear Foundation’s Soweto branch has been a lifeline for hundreds of families in the township, offering a sanctuary where tears shed behind closed doors can be dried and the cycle of abuse can be broken.
However, the future of this crucial facility has been compromised by significant termite damage to its foundation. Urgent repairs are thus essential to ensure the continued safety and support of the children who rely on its services.
The Teddy Bear Foundation is urgently raising R10,000 to maintain and repair this facility, which is crucial to providing a safe space for abuse victims on their healing journey.
“Your generosity can make a real difference. We rely on the kindness of others and humbly request any support toward our mission.
“Together, we can help put an end to child abuse,” The Teddy Bear Foundation appealed.
To make a donation, you can visit the foundation’s donations page using the reference “Soweto Branch Donation.”
