Thanks to some super-generous toy donations, 5,000 kids are about to dive headfirst into a world of colorful, creative, and seriously fun play.

South Africa (28 February 2025) – You learn the most when you’re intrigued and having fun! Well, this is at least true when it comes to play-based learning which greatly helps children develop skills in many areas, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

This theory is at the heart of Cotlands’ Early Childhood Development centres and library hubs where play is the foundation of learning.

And things are about to get even more exciting thanks to a generous donation of 200 play boxes from the Clinton Health Access Initiative, a global health organisation committed to saving lives, and the LEGO Foundation. This contribution promises to ignite play-based early learning opportunities for 5,000 children, helping them reach their full potential!

These play boxes, each with construction-style building blocks, will be distributed across Cotlands’ eight Toy Library hubs nationwide, ensuring that more children have access to quality educational play that builds creativity, problem-solving, and essential life skills.

According to Cotlands, these colourful construction blocks help improve fine motor skills, encourage experimentation and learning through trial and error, spark creativity, help with shape recognition and promote cooperation and communication.

Kids will be stacking towers, balancing bridges, and learning to share and communicate, all while thinking they’re just having a blast!

“Through our partnerships, we are shaping a brighter future – one brick at a time,” Cotlands excitedly shared.
