Uber partner-drivers are able to follow their dreams while earning an honest income. Uber shared the stories of two musos who are following their dreams

Taderera Mabvudzi and Mandla Dube are both Uber driver-partners with a passion for music. They joined uber to allow them the flexibility needed to follow their passion for music.

Taderera Mabvudzi is a prime example that dreams can come true. He is well known in the Cape Town community. Taderera is now a composer, songwriter, radio host and producer. He is a father of three and refused to let his children go to bed with an empty stomach like he did.

When Taderera isn’t doing Uber trips or working on his music, he is doing motivational talks at the local schools within his community. He does the talks to inspire the children to pursue and maintain an honest living. Taderera has been nominated in the Cape Town Zimbabwe Excellence Awards 2017.

Taderera has driven many influential people which have sometimes led to him playing at their events.

“Networking is essential in building a career in the entertainment industry and can assist in keeping your brand relevant as well as consistent”

Mandla Dube is a DJ who uses his off time to create mixes. When he can, he plays them for his riders. He spent four years on the underground scene and still takes massive inspiration from some of the world’s heavyweight DJs.

“I love that I get to see various parts of Johannesburg while taking riders to their destinations, as well as meeting new people every day with different personalities”

Mandla has played at various places including African countries such as Botswana and Mozambique.

Taderera and Mandla are pure entrepreneurs that both believe that society should not define your success. They are both determined to define success on their own terms, in their own time all while following their musical dreams.
