J’Something is ready to tell his “lockdown” story through music. It’s going to be emotional, beautiful and totally unforgettable.

Johannesburg, South Africa (15 August 2022) – J’Something has just launched “Indoor” – a project born from lockdown but brought to life two years later.

Indoor tells the story (through music) of an artist trying to make sense of an incredibly tragic time.

As many people were re-evaluating their purpose during the lockdown, J’Something turned to music to keep grounded and sane. For an artist who was accustomed to live performances and public interaction almost daily, staying home suddenly became everyone’s reality.

“At the beginning of lockdown, I started working on music as a way to cope with the anxiety that came with an announcement made by a mainstream newspaper that stated: entertainment was the most non-essential.”

As someone who believes in the power of music and its ability to uplift and carry joy like no other, this statement broke his spirit. At the time, J wasn’t in a really good headspace to write his own music, so the talented artist decided to spend time with some songs and artists that inspired him.

The result… Indoor, a 9-track mixtape of covers produced and recorded during the lockdown in his studio at home, indoors.

“Every song and every artist on this project has massively impacted me, and I will be putting on a three-city tour in South Africa for a once-off musical theatre experience, where I will be performing these songs and sharing my experience as an artist during the lockdown.”

This first-of-its-kind tour will feature J alongside his 3 piece band performing a full-length show, in the three major South African cities, namely Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg. The tickets are limited, and the moment will be unforgettable – you can buy them by clicking here.

“I would love to share this moment with you. I think it’s going to be a really dope experience and would love to have you there.”
