Economy Class

Zukiswa Nee-Whang was on her way back to Johannesburg from Durban when she bumped into the DA executive Mayors of Gauteng sitting in Economy Class!

Zukiswa Nee-Whang was boarding her flight home when she saw the DA executive Mayors of Midvaal, Johannesburg and Pretoria all sitting in everyday Economy Class!

She was so blown away by their humble seats she decided to snap some pictures of them and shared the story online. The post was filled with praise for the Mayors and the Democratic Alliance.

“When was the last time you flew business or first-class on an airplane? For most South Africans, the answer is never or once or twice, thanks to an upgrade. I fall into the latter category. Not to mention, those who can afford to pay for first-class tickets, aren’t doing it on the backs of taxpayers… unless of course you are a “high ranking” government public rep.”

“Travelling back home from Durban and guess who I see in the economy class section? Gautang executive Mayors of Midvaal – Bongani Baloyi, Johannesburg – Herman Mashaba and Pretoria – Solly Tshepiso Msimanga.”

“I’m glad that the DA led governments are putting citizens first and that DA Mayors recognize that they are public servants of the people who do not have a privileged status.”

Zukiswa’s post has been really popular! The public have praised the Mayors for their responsible leadership and not taking advantage. It has received over 1141 shares since Sunday!

It is a very inspiring thing to see members of political parties putting the people first!
