A petition urging Baleka Mbete to allow a secret ballot and act in favour of the South African public has been doing the rounds on the Internet!

The Secret Ballot has been the talk of the political town for a few months now! Finally some clarity has been given by ConCourt about who has the responsibility to allow one to take place in the vote of no confidence against the current standing president.

National Speaker Baleka Mbete has the responsibility to call for a secret ballot. The pressure has mounted as the DA, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and the South African people are all calling for an answer!

A petition was set up asking Mbete to consider what is right for the South African people and to act in favour of that instead of her own self-served interests.

Her decision could literally decide the future of our country. Let’s build an urgent call to demand a secret vote now! Sign now and share with everyone — when this is massive we’ll deliver it direct to the Speaker!

You can sign the petition here.

The Democratic Alliance has also said that they are giving the speaker 24 hours to make a decision on a Parliamentary debate about the secret ballot.

“It’s important that we have this debate so that Parliament expresses itself over the action of Parliament and the Guptas, particularly after the emails.” – John Steenhuisen

The Deputy President also weighed in on the topic, he believes that Mbete will make the right decision!

“She also can’t hide behind the veil of saying ‘I don’t have the power’.” – Cyril Ramaphosa

We will keep you up to date with any developments! So stay tuned!
