She has bonded her house twice to keep her foundation open, but this incredible South African is not going to stop until every victim of abuse finds help in our country!
Johannesburg South Africa – This episode of Good Things Guy is not Brent Lindeque’s usual format. He continues to highlight crimes against the women of South Africa, following one of our darkest weeks.
“She wasn’t drunk. She wasn’t wearing anything provocative. She wasn’t being a smart ass. She wasn’t walking around at odd hours. She merely went to collect a package at the post office, during the day, but she was still raped and killed.
Uyinene, Aneen, Karabo, Reeva, many, many more.? Crimes against women in South Africa has become an uncontrollable, vicious cycle where women and children are sexually assaulted and murdered with little to no justice for the ones that are left behind to pick up the pieces.
We, as a country, must find a solution to the crime that is currently out of control.”
The TEARS Foundation is making a significant contribution, providing access to crisis intervention, advocacy, counselling, and prevention education services for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse. Confidential services are provided to all victims at no charge.
Mara Glennie, the founder of the TEARS Foundation, joins Brent Lindeque on the Good Things Guy Jacpod to chat to us about the crisis, and what her incredible foundation does.
