After two quiet weeks of minimal adoptions, last week turned over an overwhelming new leaf as 11 dogs at Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming walked out of their kennels for the last time and into their forever homes.

Bothas Hill, South Africa (03 June 2026) – There is an incomparable magic that sweeps through an animal shelter when a vulnerable dog watches their kennel door open for the very last time.

For animal welfare organisations, these moments are the heartwarming validation of sleepless nights and tireless care, turning a place of transition into a launchpad for pure joy as a once-forgotten soul steps into a life of warmth and safety.

For the dedicated team at Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming in Bothas Hill, KZN, that familiar joy didn’t just knock on the door last week – it burst right through it!

The shelter celebrated the successful adoptions of not one, or two, or even ten – but a phenomenal 11 dogs, sending a wave of happiness experienced by the entire team that rallied tirelessly to help them find their forever homes!

“This last week of adoptions has been AWESOME! We feel so much better this week after two weeks of very minimal adoptions! It truly has healed our hearts,” Paw Prints shared in a recent post.

The week of successful adoptions saw a previously broken-legged boy, Blackie, walk into his happily ever after, and the entire S-Litter (except for little Smurfette) leave for their new, lovely homes!

“Our gorgeous girl Reign went to a home with a new bestie and sibling that she already adores! Stunning little Liv went to her happy home! And Lilo, Willow and Bullet found their forever family! So, in total, we’ve had 11 adoptions this week, with many of them happening over the weekend, and we just LOVE it!”

The Paw Prints team expressed its immense gratitude to all the families and individuals who opened up their hearts to these special furbabies and cannot wait to see what the next week holds for all their remaining doggies!
