12000 school bags

As part of our festive charity series, we shared the story about Steyn City asking people to pledge school bags… They hit 12 000 bags this year. Just Amazing!

Steyn City asked local residents in the North of Johannesburg to pledge a school bag to a child in Diepsloot. Diepsloot is township on the outskirts of Steyn City. Steyn City often works with the township to create upliftment in the area and better the lives of the children living there.

Each bag pledge cost only R150.00 and earlier today, Tammy Menton shared a preview of the bags being packed. The wonderful part was they have had pledges for 12000 bags!

The bags are being given out on Monday, the 27th of November 2017. Tammy has encouraged people to follow their journey.

In the video you can see row after row of brightly coloured bags. Each bag can be seen being filled with an equally bright ball as well as bottled water. We are unsure what else is being put in the bags but the sight of 12000 just brings pure joy to our hearts!

The entire process is managed by Steyn City and this will be the 5th year that the bags have been given to the youth of Diepsloot.

Watch the incredible video below.

THIS is what TWELVE THOUSAND (12000) school bags filled with goodies looks like!! We are #DeliveringHappinessToDiepsloot this Monday. Follow our journey….Beryl Scott-Payet Marie Bowden Steyn City
