A bake-off is on the menu for Knysna’s animal-loving community! Those who’ve just been looking for an excuse to bake and decorate something fabulous (or help out as a taste-tester) are invited, and all proceeds will help animals in need.

Knysna, South Africa (13 March 2025) — The Knysna Animal Welfare Society are bringing together sweet sentiments of all sorts thanks to their upcoming bake-off competition.

An effort to pay the way for their sterilisation drive, the bake-off is on the search for bakers and tasters. The bakers will be competing for the ‘Best Baker 2025’ title, while the guests will be tasked with tasting and voting on the delicious bakes.

There will also be a panel of judges present and votes will be split between the judges and the guests.

And those with a penchant for table decorating, you’re in luck. Make Martha Stewart proud by decorating a table for eight, with tables and chairs provided. You’ll be in charge of the table’s colour scheme, design and, most importantly, vibe. Again, voting will be split between the panel and the guests.

Not just an opportunity for some cake-loving creativity or table-decorating pizazz, the Bake-off serves as an important fundraiser for the Kynsna Animal Welfare Society. The proceeds are set to support the charity’s sterilisation campaign!
