Representing South Africa at the prestigious Talent America finals in New York, Brandon Strydom outshone competitors from more than 10 countries in his category to secure top accolades and a life-changing scholarship to study at the renowned New York Film Academy!

Cape Town, South Africa (01 August 2025) – Talented performer from Cape Town, Brandon Strydom, has accomplished what many peers in his field dream of, having represented South Africa at the Talent America 2025 finals in Manhattan, New York and winning the scholarship of a lifetime!

The international event attracted more than 40 competitors, representing the best talent from over 10 different countries. Brandon was the youngest competitor in the 18–24 year old category.

“My exceptional performances in acting and vocals earned me top accolades and international recognition,” says Brandon.

These achievements included first place in all entered categories: Comedic Monologue, Dramatic Monologue, Vocal Broadway, Vocal Singer’s Choice, as well as the Overall Division Winner for Acting & Vocals and the Pinnacle Award for the Highest Combined Score in his age category.

The life-changing prize of them all? Brandon was named the scholarship winner of $20,000 per year to study at the prestigious New York Film Academy in 2026!

However, the incredible does come with a financial challenge.

“While this scholarship is a tremendous opportunity, it currently covers only 50% of the annual tuition fees.

“I am now actively seeking financial assistance or sponsorships to help cover the remaining tuition and living expenses required to pursue my dream of becoming a professional performer,” Brandon explains.

The Parklands College Grade 12 learner hopes to garner support in the form of sponsors, bursary providers, or donors to bridge the gap and cover his expenses so he can pursue his promising journey to the world stage.
