Cape Town Busker

Donna Oakes was waiting for a train in Cape Town when she heard the most beautiful singing, she switched on her camera and went to investigate.

She uploaded the video to Facebook which immediately went viral. The post has already been shared over 50,000 times and viewed over 5 million times! The singer is so incredibly talented, we can see why!

At the time of recording, Oakes had no idea who the busker was or even thought that the video would go viral… she just knew she had to share it!

Check out the incredible performance below:

But it turns out this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this busker!

Derek Plaatjes was first caught on camera earlier this year in a video that also went viral!

Genevieve Maxim never knew that a simple video that she took would gain so much attention. She had been waiting at the train station as well, when she saw Derek Plaatjies playing on his guitar.

She uploaded the video which garnished thousands of views within the space of a couple of hours. And turned Plaatjies into an overnight sensation!

Just this week, the talented singer appeared on “SA’s Got Talent” and received the first golden buzzer of the season… which means he is going straight to the semi-finals!

The 23-year-old from Saron in the Western Cape hopes to inspire other young people from small towns to follow their dreams no matter how challenging their circumstances may be.
