Cape Town, South Africa (21 December 2020) – Mr Abd Allah found an expensive camera on Boulders Beach in Cape Town. He took the camera home and downloaded a few images to use to identify the owner.

Mr Abd Allah used Cape Town Community Facebook groups to try track down the owner. He shared an image of the person who owned the camera and asked for help to find him. He left his number on the post

It worked, and Mr Abd Allah was connected with Jesper Österwall, a tourist from Stockholm, Sweden. Jesper had lost his camera while playing in the surf.

Once they connected, Jesper was able to go through and meet Mr Abd Allah and his family. He collected his camera and thanked them all for making an effort to reunite him with his camera.

“I am the owner of the camera and these two heroes found it. I am speechless for you’re honesty and kindness also everyone who shared. Thank you, family, Abd Allah” – Jesper Österwall

Jesper will now be able to show his family back home that in a moment of loss, he was shown a true South African kindness.
