Goodluck teamed up with the Souper Troopers and the Haven Night Shelter to perform for over 650 homeless people recently.
This year the Souper Troopers celebrated their 4th birthday and decided to throw an epic birthday bash for 650 homeless people in Cape Town.
The Souper Troopers are made up of a group of people who meet once a month to give out soup, sandwiches and when possible clothes, toiletries and any other form of nourishment to the homeless. The aim to show respect, give love and provide opportunities for the homeless to regain their dignity.
“These meetings are more than just a means to nourish their hunger. Whilst the needs of the homeless are met through food and clothing, the group also take time to nourish the peoples’ souls and inspire some hope.”
They invited Goodluck to perform at one of the Haven Night Shelters and give the homeless people there, an opportunity to be included in the celebrations.
“Last weekend we had the privilege of performing for 650 homeless people in Cape Town with our friends Souper Troopers. It was an incredible experience to reachout and interact with people from a completely different set of circumstances to our own.”
“It’s crazy to think that this community, who live a daily struggle of finding their next meal or a place to sleep haven’t given up on life! This is all about dignity and not making people feel like outcasts, this is about music and connectedness, this is about love and gratitude.”
