Top performing student, Kelebogile Matloga, is proof that when a door is opened for one person, they hold it open for a hundred more. The recent Wits Actuarial Science graduate has returned to the after-school programme that supported his learning to tutor the next generation.
Diepsloot, South Africa (13 April 2026) – Growing up in the township of Diepsloot, Kelebogile Matloga recognised early on that education was his path out of adversity, a vital bridge to a different, promising future. That belief took root at Afrika Tikkun’s Wings of Life Centre, where he found a safe, supportive environment to learn and grow.
Through the organisation’s Ignite Afterschool Programme, Kelebogile’s determination led to seven distinctions and a 100% pass in Mathematics in high school, earning him recognition as one of Afrika Tikkun’s top achievers.

His discipline carried him to the University of the Witwatersrand, where he pursued Actuarial Science as a Moshal Scholarship recipient.
“Today, Kelebogile celebrates a significant milestone, graduating from Wits and stepping confidently into his professional future,” Afrika Tikkun shares with pride.
Kelebogile Matloga’s journey is a beautiful reflection of what happens when potential meets the right support. And the most powerful part of his journey may just be how he’s chosen to pay it forward.
“Giving back is a central part of who I am, shaped by the challenging conditions I grew up in,” Kelebogile says.
The high achiever has returned to the very centre that carried him, now tutoring Grade 9 to 12 learners in Mathematics.
“What began as a personal journey of learning has evolved into a legacy of leadership and giving back. His success doesn’t end with a degree; it lives on in every student he inspires, sparking a cycle of excellence that carries the entire community forward,” the organisation said.
Huge congratulations to Kelebogile on earning his Wits Actuarial Science degree and for using his success to light the way for others!
