Perhaps the only way we will rise is by uplifting each other, and lending a hand.
We can probably all remember that when Mr Ramaphosa became our President, he asked us all to LEND A HAND and SEND ME, to make life better for fellow South Africans.
Debbie, a Capetonian heard the message loud and clear and created an initiative to do just that!
“Many of us joined his initiative to Lend a Hand. Together, with friends, we decided to help the patients at a rural hospital in the Eastern Cape, by making beanies and blankets for newborn babies.”
But that was the easy part for the caring South Africans! The bigger question was how to get boxes of beanies and blankets from Cape Town to a remote hospital in the Eastern Cape?
Debbie contacted Skynet courier service looking for someone to Lend a Hand, to help them Lend a Hand!
“I wondered if perhaps Skynet would support this initiative, and Lend a Hand and deliver several cardboard boxes of blankets and clothing, from Cape Town.”
She sent an email, and within 2 hours received the most wonderful, positive, enthusiastic reply from Skynet Customer Service manager, Judy Geerdts.
Her reply ‘ We are in a position to help you, and would be proud to assist in delivering these blankets’.
Debbie was so heartened by her kindness, and enthusiasm that she contacted Good Things Guy to share her simple, but powerful story!
“The boxes were collected from me, almost immediately, and delivered to the hospital within 2 days. Skynet really went the extra mile, and I would love South Africans to know how wonderfully kind Judy and her team are.
Thank you Judy, and Skynet!”
