Cape Town (04 October 2023) — South Africa’s music scene is buzzing with excitement as local musicians Sunset Sweatshop and Refentse have joined forces to release their eagerly awaited single, ‘Be One’—a feel-good collaboration that hits all the right notes for reasons beyond melody.

While the collaboration does a fantastic job of oozing energy and merging the unique talents of both renowned acts, it’s also in tune with deeper messages true to the concept of uniting and calls listeners to share their hearts.

Originally conceived as a theme song for Cape Town’s charitable organization, The Secret Love Project, ‘Be One’ has evolved into a message of hope for all South Africans, serving as a reminder of the strength that arises from coming together—a sentiment similar to the warmth that radiates from seeing someone with a Secret Love Project heart sticker.

Sunset Sweatshop, known for their dynamic performances and catchy melodies, and Refentse, a gifted singer-songwriter celebrated for his soul-stirring storytelling, have crafted a musical journey that sparks hope through heartfelt lyrics, soulful vocals, and a captivating musical arrangement into a harmonious tapestry.

Over and above a call to groove, it also invites listeners to stand united and celebrate the diversity that defines South Africa; reinforcing its significance as a beacon of hope in collaboration with The Secret Love Project.

Lead singer Ian Heyns shares:

“The feedback on the single has been overwhelmingly positive. Fans are resonating deeply with the song’s message of unity.”

More about the Secret Love Project

If you’re from the Mother City, you’ll know heart stickers are everywhere. Cars, cellphone covers, laptops, you name it.

The Secret Love Project helps homeless people and those in dire circumstances to make their own way through selling heart stickers; reigniting purpose and responsibility into lives that most need it.

They are hope in sticker form and a reminder of the good we can all do to fill parts of South Africa with as much love and support as possible, for people like Goose Samaritan Clive Booysen and all the other sellers turning their lives around.
