South Africans are celebrating all our incredible athletes at the Summer Paralympic Games in Rio this year… and rightfully so, they are doing phenomenal!

 

The Brazilian city, with its stunning landmarks, has provided the perfect backdrop for the pinnacle of each para-athlete’s career: the Paralympic Games.

Around 4,350 athletes from more than 160 countries have travelled to Rio to compete in 528 medal events in 22 different sports.

South Africa have a total team of 44 incredible athletes competing in the Summer Paralympic Games in Rio this year and they are doing incredibly well in the medal count!

Back home, South Africans have taken to social media to support and congratulate the athletes and rightfully so… they have already bagged 9 medals in just 8 days!
